I love Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper (DSP), and I usually love BOTH sides! The images and designs, made by our own in-house artists, are so beautiful, it’s hard to choose which side of the paper to feature. That’s why today’s card design is so great…you get to enjoy BOTH sides of the paper!
Today’s card features the Snowy Scenes DSP, which coordinates with the Snowy Wonder stamp set. The penguins in this design are my favorite part!! I love them, and I keep thinking about how many different projects I could make with these little guys!
I have made several different cards using this same layout, which shows you just how versatile it is. PLEASE CLICK HERE to link to another card I made earlier this year, which has a completely different look and feel to it, just based on the paper design.
I started out with a piece of DSP measuring 5-1/2″ x 12″, scored at 3-3/4″ and 8″ (on the long side). When this piece is folded on the score lines, it folds into a trifold card layout. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It will be very easy to see exactly how this card is put together!
I die cut out one of the cute label dies from the Greetings of the Season die set, using Poppy Parade cardstock, for the focal point on the front of the card. Using matching Poppy Parade ink, I stamped snowflakes on the background of the tag, and also heat embossed the sentiment using the White WOW Embossing Powder.
I hand cut out the adorable little penguin snow globe, which I just couldn’t resist! I “painted” the glass portion of the globe with the Wink of Stella Glitter Pen, which is hard to see in the pictures but is AMAZING in person! It adds the perfect touch! And finally, I sprinkled on a few of the White Loose Snowflakes.
The top of the tag features the adorable Pool Party Pompom ribbon, which is tied with the Real Red & White Baker’s Twine (another FAVORITE of mine this holiday season!!).
The inside of the card was decorated with a penguin stamped with Black Memento ink, and the little snowflakes, stamped in Pool Party ink. I colored in the penguin’s beak using the Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend marker. This piece of Basic White cardstock, by the way, measures 3-3/4″ x 5″, and fits into the inside of the card just perfectly.
What do you think?? Isn’t it just adorable?? Like I said…this layout can be used with TONS of different DSP designs, and I’m thinking the adorable Reindeer Days DSP will have to be next!!
