Did you see the card I made the other day, making a Fun Fold using the Trusty Tools stamp set? Well, this card is exactly the same layout, except using different Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the card base. I was excited to use the same layout with different paper, just to see how it looked! I folded the card on the opposite side, which you might say is backward, but it’s just for fun! I thought it would look good with the bow on the left-hand side, instead of the right.
I used the Flight & Airy DSP for the card base here, and it sure is beautiful! It is one of the FREE items you can earn right now during Sale-A-Bration 2024, which lasts until the end of February! It’s beautiful paper, with such soft, spring-like colors. I love the pastels and the darling birds.
This fun fold card features the DSP beautifully. You could use any DSP design for this card layout, which is why I made a masculine version the other day! This fold really features the paper itself. You start out with a piece of DSP measuring 5-1/2″ x 12″, scored on the long side at 3-3/4″ and 8″. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. You can see exactly how the fold works, and how I decorated it!
For the front of the card, I used one of the darling rectangles from the Scalloped Contours die set, cut out of Basic White cardstock. Then, I found one of the birds from the DSP, and hand-cut it out with my Paper Snips. It took a little bit of time, but it’s GORGEOUS! Don’t you think?? I layered this onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, in order to give it some height.
The ribbon that I wrapped around the card is from the 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack, and the Bubble Bath pink blended perfectly with this paper. And, it’s so gorgeous with the little silver trim on the edges! It gives the card a little bit of sparkle, which I love.
I finished off the card by adding a sentiment stamped in Boho Blue ink, from the Perennial Postage stamp set. It’s such a great set of sentiments, with everything you need! I really, really like this set. And I sprinkled on a few pink sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio pack. Perfect!
I hope you enjoy this card. I really love it, and it truly makes me anxious for Spring!
