I’m using the Zany Zoo stamp set, along with the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (DSP), as much as I can before it retires! It’s such cute paper on BOTH sides…the adorable animals on one side, and the fun printed black & white designs on the back! I’ve featured both sides on this adorable, yet simple, card layout today, and I hope you love it!
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s such a fun one, and you could easily switch it up with different papers and images!
I started out with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black cardstock, folded in half, to create the card base. Then, I layered on 2 pieces of the DSP. The bottom piece (polka dots) measures 3-3/4″ x 4-3/4″, and the top piece (squiggles) measures 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″. I adhered them to the card base at different angles so that you could see both of them! I tied a bow around them both, using the Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon. This ribbon is dreamy–so soft and thin, it’s fantastic for bow-making!
Next, I pulled out the DSP and chose to feature the cute elephant. I used the Nested Essentials dies to die cut him out, and then die cut out the next largest die to layer him onto. I cut that one out of Balmy Blue cardstock, and adhered them together using Liquid Glue. I layered them onto the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and bannered the edges with my Paper Snips. I adhered this sentiment banner onto the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I couldn’t resist decorating the inside of the card, because there are so many cute animals to choose from! I cut out the cute raccoon using my Paper Snips, and layered him onto the inside of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, only inking those 2 words instead of the entire sentiment. You can see how I did this by hand, if you watch the video.
Voila! It’s finished! Such an easy card layout, but oh, so cute! I hope you’ll give it a try!
