Waterside Retreat Fun Fold

I made a great fun fold card today using the brand new Waterside Retreat bundle, and I love it! I made this for Season 8, Episode 6 of the Great North American Stampin’ Show, and if you missed it, hop on over and catch the replay HERE!

I started out with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock, folded in half, for my card base. Then, I added the fun fold mechanism to the inside of the card. It’s a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 5-1/4″ x 8″, scored at 4″ and 6″. You have to glue this in the correct way, so that it folds out “backward” from what we’re normally used to.

I added 2 pieces of Blueberry Bushel to the pull-out portions of this piece, and they both measured 1-7/8″ x 5-1/8″. Layered onto that are strips of the Designer Series Paper that goes with the suite, and those measure 1-3/4″ x 5-1/4″. I love the nostalgic prints on this piece, all of the buoys and floats!

After adhering a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of DSP to the front of the card base, I die cut out the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes circle from the front, to make a window. Then, I added a piece of DSP to the circle that it left behind, using a 2-3/8″ punch. Please watch the video if this doesn’t make sense!

To decorate the front of the card, I stamped the Adirondack chair with Crumb Cake ink, and the cattails with Old Olive ink. I die cut them out, and added them to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch was adding a sentiment to the front, using Blueberry Bushel ink, and punching it out with the Three Banner Punch. I love that thing!
