Waterside Retreat 3 Square Card - Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

It’s time for the May Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are here to share our creative ideas with you. We hope to inspire you this month with MASCULINE-THEMED CARDS! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. Here is the project I created for the exclusive tutorial. Isn’t it fabulous?? I used the gorgeous, new Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper to create it, and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. For today’s blog post, I made another beautiful, masculine-feeling card with the Waterside Retreat bundle. I am LOVING creating with this product suite!

I started out with Crumb Cake cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. I added a piece of Peaceful Pine cardstock on top, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. Finally, on top of that, I layered 3 pieces of the beautiful Waterside Retreat DSP. The top pieces measure 1-7/8″ x 2-7/8″, and bottom piece measures 2″ x 3-3/4″. You could choose any of the beautiful patterns here, but I love the ones that I put together for this little “scene”!

I stamped the Adirondack chair with Crumb Cake ink onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, and die cut it out. I stamped the little coffee mug with Misty Moonlight, and also die cut it out. I adhered these to the card front, with the chair slightly hanging off the left-hand edge of the card, and then trimmed off the excess. I adhered all of these using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I took a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment using 2 different inks–both Crumb Cake, and Misty Moonlight. I trimmed it down and bannered both edges, using my Paper Snips, and then layered this onto my card front after adding a little touch of Peaceful Pine ribbon, as well as some Linen Thread, behind it.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the word “Relax” using Peaceful Pine ink, and the cattails were stamped with Crumb Cake ink. This piece of Basic White cardstock measures 3-3/4″ x 5″.

The final touch was adding just one little Faux Bronze Pentagon onto the sentiment on the front of the card, and I love that little touch! I hope you loved this card–I think it’s absolutely beautiful.
