I’ve been having SO much fun playing with all of the stamp sets that I bought for the holiday season! Pumpkins, Christmas trees, snow, and penguins…it’s been a blast. I just saw a meme on Social Media yesterday that said there are 8 Mondays left until Christmas, and I just about fell out of my chair! I’m having fun creating, but I’m not quite ready for Christmas. I’m glad I’ve been starting on my Christmas cards already! Ha ha!
Today I made a cute Christmas card using the Snowy Wonder stamp set and matching Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper (DSP). If you follow me at all, you know that my style is…using our gorgeous DSP almost every single time I craft! Honestly, I hardly create any cards anymore that don’t use some sort of DSP. It “does the hard work…” Using the cute, printed paper makes crafting easy and quick, which I love!
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s easy, and you can see how I did the cute pompom ribbon as the accent!
Today’s card uses Poppy Parade cardstock for the card base, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of that is the cute candy cane printed DSP, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. On top of that is a strip of 1″ x 5-1/2″ Poppy Parade cardstock, which I added the Pool Party Pompom trim to, as an accent. If you watch the video, you can see exactly how I added this trim. It really makes the card, in my opinion! I love how it looks!
The Petal Pink circles are dies from the Spotlight on Nature die set, and I hand-cut out several cute penguins from the DSP to feature in each of the circles. The penguins were added using Stampin’ Dimensionals, so that they pop off the page and add some texture.
The sentiment was stamped onto a little scrap piece of Pool Party cardstock, using Black Memento ink. I bannered the left-hand edge, then adhered it directly to the card base using Stampin’ Seal adhesive.
The inside of the card is decorated by stamping the little penguin with Black Memento ink, coloring in his little beak with the Pumpkin Pie Blends markers. I stamped a little bit of snow, using Pool Party ink.
Finally, I sprinkled on some of the adorable little White Loose Snowflakes, which added the perfect touch to the outside of the card. Don’t you think? I hope this card inspires your holiday cardmaking!
