It’s fun to make handmade ornaments for our Christmas trees, isn’t it? Paper crafting is about so much more than just cards. It’s home décor, scrapbooking, gifts, and more! Today’s cute little project is just one example of the fun things you can do with dies and paper.

I started off today’s project using the Round We Go dies, which die cut and score the rosette shape for you! I used the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper pack for these ornaments, and they look so cute. There are large reindeer images on one side of the paper, but the opposite sides of the paper have really cute, small images that work great for a project like this.
After die cutting 2 of the strips of paper, I folded them on the score lines and used my hot glue gun to adhere the ends together. That’s all it takes! It “magically” folds into the rosette, just by smashing it down! (Please watch the video to see this in action!)
The middle of the ornament is another piece that is from the die set, the scalloped circle. I die cut these out of Basic White cardstock, and used the hot glue gun to adhere them to the centers of the rosettes. Then, I pulled out my Festive Glitter Paper to die cut out some letters, using two different alphabet die sets. The smaller letters are from the Mini Alphabet dies, and the long, skinny letters are from the Alphabet a la Mode dies. I love the big ones, but the word has to be small to fit on these rosettes!
I finished off my ornaments using the Real Red & White Baker’s Twine for the string, and then added a Shaded Spruce Satin & Sheer Ribbon bow on the top. And that’s it! They are simple and cute!
You could really go crazy with decorating these ornaments. I was thinking it would be fun to cut out some of the reindeer, or add some gems. Some stamping would be really cute, as would some greenery coming out from behind the scalloped circle on the front. What else can you think of?
I hope you love this project! It was a fun one to make!
