I have a super fun gift packaging idea for you today! It’s called a Loaded Pocket Envelope, and it holds all kinds of things. The best items to stuff into it are treats or crafting supplies!! Of course! LOL
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the full video to make this project. Like most intricate projects, it’s best to watch the video to see it all come together, and then follow along here with the measurements.
I started off with a base of the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper (DSP), using a full 12″ x 12″ sheet. I scored this at 3-1/4″ in from both the left and right sides. Then, I turned it 90 degrees and scored one side at 3-3/4″. This will be the BOTTOM pocket of your envelope.
After folding your DSP along the score lines, you need to fold down the top edges of the pocket. This is best seen by watching the video.
For all packaging and boxes, I always use our awesome Tear & Tape Adhesive. If you look closely, you can see where the adhesive is applied in this photo, on both the far left side, and then the folded right side. You can also see it best if you watch the video.
After folding the envelope closed, I turned the envelope over to add another pocket to the outside/back of the envelope. It adds yet another spot to tuck in some goodies! This pocket measures 3-1/2″ x 6-1/2″, and is scored at 1/2″ on the right side, the left side, and the bottom. Using Tear & Tape Adhesive, I adhered this pocket to the back of the envelope (see video).
Finally, I decorated the front of the pocket. I used a piece of Real Red cardstock, measuring 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, to make a band across the front. I also used a 1/2″ strip of Basic White cardstock, stamped with Garden Green ink, to stamp a sentiment and add this onto the band. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals for this, so that it popped off the envelope.
For the decoration, I hand cut out one of the reindeer from the DSP, and added it to a 2-3/8″ circle punch that I punched out of our gorgeous Glimmer Paper. I added a tiny Real Red & White Baker’s Twine bow to his neck, for the finishing touch.
I hope you enjoyed this project! It’s a super fun one to make, and surprisingly, not too difficult!
