Today’s project is going to look similar to the last one I shared using this same stamp set and technique, but it features a different use of the Leaf Fall Embossing Folder and a different card layout! It’s such an easy, yet striking, layout, that I hope you’ll give it a try!
Today’s card features a Crumb Cake card base, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. After folding it in half, I ran just the card front through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, using the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. It looks so good! It gives such a lovely background, yet it is subtle.

Next, I die cut out one of the scalloped rectangles from Copper Clay cardstock, using the Scalloped Contours dies. I love the cute scalloped edge, plus the dotted rectangle outline! This is such a great layering piece. On top of this is a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 2-9/16″ x 3-7/8″. Although it is awkward measuring, it is the perfect fit for the scalloped rectangle die.
For the focal point of the card, I stamped the maple leaf from the Autumn Leaves stamp set. First, I inked up the leaf in Crushed Curry ink. Then, I took a sponge dauber and daubed around the edges of the stamp with Copper Clay ink. You can see all of this in the video I have linked above.
After stamping the maple leaf onto the Basic White cardstock, I stamped the veins of the leaf on top, using Early Espresso ink. It was the perfect contrast color to use here! And finally, I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of this piece of Basic White cardstock. The “I’m thankful” part was stamped in Copper Clay, and the “for all you do” is stamped in Early Espresso.
After adhering the Basic White piece to the scalloped rectangle, I wrapped a piece of the Natural Wavy Trim ribbon around it, giving it a lovely, natural touch. I just tied it in a knot, which gave the perfect look. Then, I adhered this entire panel onto the card base, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
And, that’s it! What do you think? It’s so easy, it makes me smile! I hope you give it a try! PLEASE CLICK HERE to head over to see another card I made with the sponge dauber technique and this same stamp set.
