I made a card today that is a bit crazy! It’s a card that your kids or grandkids would have a lot of fun with. Totally easy, and totally random…that’s the name of the game for today’s Christmas card design!
All you need to make today’s card are some coordinating Stampin’ Write Markers, as well as a stenciled circle of some sort. I chose to use the Deckled Circle Dies to cut out a circle in my Basic White cardstock, which created a big circle stencil that I could use for today’s design.
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. You can see exactly how random and fun it was to make!
I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock for my card base, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Next, I layered on my circle stencil, making sure that the circle opening lined up exactly where I wanted it to be on the card front.
Next, I started taking my markers and making lines all over the card! Completely random and messy. It was quite fun! LOL! I used my Stampin’ Write markers for this, and the colors I chose to use were: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, and Shy Shamrock. I started making lines, and went to town! I kept making lines until the circle opening was nice and full of color.
Voila! When you pull back the stencil, an “ornament” shape was left! It was fun!
I added a “top” to my ornament with a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker, and then stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink. Both the sentiment and the bow on the top of the ornament are from the Decorative Trees stamp set.
The final touch was adding a few of the Iridescent Discs Gems to the card front, just to give it a little pizazz!
What do you think? I know it’s a little out of the box, but it’s fun, isn’t it? You should give it a try, and let your creativity loose!
