It’s the eve of Valentine’s Day…do you think it’s probably time that I make a quick and cute card for my husband before the big day tomorrow?! I guess it’s time! ha ha!
I thought it’d be fun to use the beautiful Bee Mine Designer Series Paper (DSP) for my focus, and since both sides of the paper are so cute, I decided to do a fun fold card that features both sides of the paper. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card, so that you can see how quick and easy this card layout is to make!
My DSP is cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, folded in half. Then, as you can see in the video, I just folded down the front part of the card (I didn’t even measure!), approximately 2″. Just make sure that the corner folds down nicely, all the way to the corner. Then, tack down the folded piece so that it doesn’t flop up and down.
Next, I punched out a wavy circle using the Decorative Circle punch, and a different piece of the DSP. I liked the contrast of the red color, so that you could really see it against the background of the other designs. I adhered this to my card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used a 2″ circle to layer onto this Decorative Circle punched piece, and I stamped a few of the hearts from the Bee My Valentine stamp set with Petal Pink ink. Then, I layered on the sentiment using Sweet Sorbet ink.
The bee is stamped with Black Memento ink, Daffodil Delight ink, and Petal Pink ink. For the wings, I also used Petal Pink cardstock. I used the adorable, coordinating Bee Builder punch to punch out all the pieces, and then glued him together and added him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The little bow was made using the adorable Sweet Sorbet 1/2″ Bordered Ribbon, which I love! It’s a soft, supple ribbon, which makes it a fantastic choice for tying bows. I really love this ribbon!
After decorating the inside, the card is finished! It was quick and cute, which is my FAVORITE style of card to make! And now, I’d better get this in an envelope and ready to give to my Sweetie!
