This is the product suite I’m featuring for my July 2023 card class, and I’m so happy I chose it! The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is even more fantastic in person than in the pictures. It is colorful, bold, and a bit wild…but once you really start working with it, you’ll find that it is amazing!
This beautiful “pocket” style card was really fun to create. Please CLICK HERE to watch how I made this card, so you can see exactly how I cut the triangle piece to create the pocket. It’s more clearly explained when you watch it being made, than it is to explain it with words. It’s really quite easy, and once you’ve created one, just think of all of the different ways you could use a pocket card like this!
The card base is made with Fresh Freesia cardstock, which pairs perfectly with this floral DSP print, don’t you think? It makes the whole card really bright, light, and summery. Perfect for this time of year!
After creating the pocket, I die cut several pieces using the coordinating die set. I cut greenery using Soft Sea Foam, Pretty Peacock, and Vellum Cardstock, and nestled them into the pocket until I was pleased with the layout. What do you think? I think it is absolutely fabulous!
The label die that I used for the sentiment is also from this same die set. It is perfect for the sentiments included in the set, and I love how it has edges that look ripped. Such a cool look!
I completed the card by adding a few of the Pretty Peacock sequins from the Adhesive Backed Sequin pack. It added the perfect amount of glitz and a bit of glam to this card, which was exactly what it needed.
DSP (floral print): 3-3/4″ x 5″, cut in half on the diagonal
Basic White Cardstock: 4” x 5 ¼”
Card base: 4 ¼” x 11”
I hope you love this card as much as I do! Share with me some of the cool pocket cards that you end up creating!
