Have you ever tried heat embossing? I love it! When it’s all embossed and cooled, the embossed area of the card looks like foil…it’s gorgeous! Today I made a winter card that would be perfect to send during the month of January, and I know the recipient would love it.
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s so pretty!
The card base is created from a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of that is a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. Finally, layered on top of that is a piece of the Country Lace Designer Series Paper, in the “denim” print, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Before layering the DSP onto the card base, I added the snowflakes! I stamped the largest snowflake from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set, using Versamark ink, and then sprinkled on the Silver WOW Embossing Powder. I then heated it with my heat tool, which made it so silvery and foil-like! I love silver embossing powder on dark colors.
As you can see in the picture, I also heat embossed the sentiment, also from the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set. This is on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, measuring 1″ x 5-1/2″.
Finally, I added a “double bow” of the gorgeous, sheer Silver & White ribbon, and added some of the beautiful Sparkle Gems. I love how this card turned out!
