I did a poll a few days ago, asking what people would like to see in the coming weeks. Overwhelmingly, lots of you said that you wanted to see Fun Fold cards! So, guess what I have for you today?!
I love Fun Fold cards, as long as they’re easy! Haha! If it looks interesting, and is folded “differently” than normal, I call it a “Fun Fold” card. This card layout fits that bill perfectly! It’s just a little bit different than normal, but it’s still super easy to make and enjoy. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card…it’s fun and easy!!
I used the Reindeer Fun bundle to make today’s card, and I love how it turned out! The Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack that goes with this stamp & die bundle is adorable. I guess I say that about most of our DSP, but I truly believe it! I absolutely LOVE Stampin’ Up!’s papers…they are all handmade, hand painted, or hand designed. They are all exclusive to Stampin’ Up!. I love that!
The card base of this card is like a postcard, and then the actual “card” portion of it is layered on top, giving it a little “something different.” What do you think?
I started out with a layer of Garden Green cardstock, measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (a postcard). Layered on top of that is the plaid print of the Reindeer Days DSP, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Layered on top of the card base is the smaller card. The Garden Green layer for this measures 3″ x 4″, and then I folded a little piece of Basic White cardstock on top. This little folded card measures 2-3/4″ x 7 -1/2″, scored at 3-3/4″.
On the little card, I brushed on some Pool Party ink using my Blending Brush, and then stamped on some snowflakes. Next, I stamped the “Merry Christmas” sentiment, using Real Red ink. Do you see how the sentiment is “stacked,” instead of one long strip, like it’s supposed to be? I inked up the words separately, so that I could stack the sentiment instead of having it be long and skinny.
The cute deer is hand cut out directly from the DSP, and layered onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And finally, I die cut out the holly leaves from Garden Green cardstock, and layered on some of the holly berries that I die cut out from the Festive Glimmer Paper pack.
You could decorate the inside of the card, too, which I definitely should have done!! LOL I’ll get right on that!!
What do you think…does this qualify as a “Fun Fold” card?? LOL I think it does! I hope you love it, and that you will give this Fun Fold a try!
