When I found out a year ago that one of my son’s wedding colors was going to be a shade of sage green, I immediately grabbed 20 packs of Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful Soft Succulent cardstock that had just retired! I knew that 20 packs was probably a bit of overkill, but it would be my only chance to get that color while it was on clearance. Now that the wedding is over, I have packs and packs leftover!! Ooops!! Good thing that they need a million Thank You cards for all of the wonderful gifts they received!! It was my opportunity to pull out several packs of the cardstock, along with lots and lots of retired packs of Designer Series Paper (DSP), and whip out some quick and easy Thank You cards.
I know that these products are no longer available, but you can still get the main layout idea, and copy it using products that you have, or products that we sell that are similar!
I started out with a basic Soft Succulent card base, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Next, I added a piece of DSP on top, and I used lots and lots of different papers for this layer. I tried to choose prints that would go well with the Soft Succulent, even if that particular color wasn’t even actually featured in the print! As long as it blended well, I was good to go! The DSP piece measures 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″.
Next, I punched out a Decorative Circle Punch from Soft Succulent cardstock, and layered a 2″ Basic White cardstock Circle Punch on top. You could achieve a similar look by using our 2-3/8″ Circle Punch for the Decorative Punch layer.
I searched through all of my piles of stamps, and found 2 sets that had perfectly-sized “Thank You” sentiments in them. They are both BRAND NEW Online Exclusive stamp sets, which will be available to the public on 3 July 2024…just a few days away! The “Thank You” stamp is from our fabulous new Everyday Greetings set, and the “Grateful” stamp is from the new Iconic Imagery stamp set. Both of these are GREAT sets, and you should definitely add them to your collection! I used my retired Soft Succulent stamp pad to stamp the sentiments, so that they would match the paper.
The final touch was a small, 3″ long strip of Soft Succulent glimmer paper, which is also retired. You could easily achieve this look by putting a strip of ribbon behind your sentiment circle, or a different color of cardstock or glimmer paper. It just adds a simple touch of something special!
That’s it! I whipped out about 100 of these in 2 days, and I’m ready to pass them off to the new Bride and Groom so that they can begin writing their letters. I’ll need to make about 200 more….at least! It’s such an awesome, fun way to use my supplies for my sweet family. I love it!
Be blessed on this beautiful Sunday afternoon!
