I love making home décor! It is so fulfilling to look around my house, and see pretty sprinkles of my own creations. Home décor does not need to be hard or overly time-consuming. But it’s a beautiful expression of your own personal touch, which I love!
Today’s project is a festive, patriotic banner to hang over my fireplace. I used the new Party Banners and Party Alphabet dies for this fun project, and I challenge you to pull out your own reds, whites, and blues and make your own!

PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this project. It was a super fun one to make! And, the video will help you understand exactly how to make the little ribbon accents.
I used several different die sets to make the different accents for this banner, but you could really use whatever you have. I featured the Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) for all of the red tones, and I featured the Country Lace DSP for all of the blue tones. I love the blues in this pack, because they look more like denim, as opposed to a super, dark Navy blue.

First, I die cut out the 4th from the largest banner die for my banners. Next, I die cut out the USA letters, using Basic White cardstock, as well as both of the DSP packs. Finally, I figured out some cute accents to add onto each banner, to give them each some pizazz.
The banner die underneath the letter U is from the Mixed Labels die set. Underneath the S, I made a rosette from the Round We Go die set, and finally, underneath the letter A, I used a tag die cut out from the Paper Tags die set. I roughed up the edges of the tag with the edge of my scissors to give it more dimension and interest.

The little stars on the A banner were from the Merriest Trees die set, and I die cut them out from both Basic White cardstock, as well as the Marbled Elegance paper pack. I layered them onto the banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also used my favorite hot glue gun for this project, which is my favorite adhesive to use when I’m making home décor. PLEASE CLICK HERE to go to my Amazon affiliate shop to find this glue gun. You’ll love it! My favorite part about it is the skinny little tip that puts the glue exactly where you want it to go, without burning your fingers!
I hope you enjoy this project, and that it has inspired you to make some of your own home décor!
