I don’t want to admit it, but I know that Fall is coming…sooner than I would like. I’m NOT ready to say “goodbye” to Summer, but I will start creating some cards that are a bit more “nature”-like. It will be easier for me to accept it step by step! LOL
Today’s card is extremely easy, but I love how it turned out. I pulled out one of the new stamp sets in the Annual Catalog, called Loveliest Tree. It is perfect for masculine cards, as well as Fall! I also decided to use some woodgrain paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack, which is gorgeous.
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s a simple one, but is amazing!
I started out with a Crumb Cake card base, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of that is a piece of Basic Black cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. And then finally, on top of that is a piece of the woodgrain DSP, which measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Before adhering the layers onto the card base, I wrapped some of the Black & Vanilla Large Check ribbon around the cardstock, and tied a bow. I love this ribbon!
Next, I die cut out one of the shapes from the Countryside Corners die set, and I used the 3rd from the largest die. I cut this out of Crumb Cake cardstock, and I stamped the large tree onto it using Black Memento ink. Doesn’t it look beautiful? And, SO simple!! I adhered this to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I die cut out one of the little rectangles from the Nested Essentials die set, and stamped the sentiment using Black Memento ink. I added a few of the leaf images, using the matching Crumb Cake ink, which gave the perfect touch. I adhered this onto the card, also using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The last addition was to sprinkle on a few of the Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems, which looked amazing with this color scheme. The finished product is just perfect, and I absolutely love it.
Do you remember the Lovely as a Tree stamp set that Stampin’ Up! sold for a million years?? I was so tired of it by the time it retired, I sold it immediately! But, it was one of the most popular stamp sets ever. I am assuming that this is the “reincarnation” of that stamp set!! HA HA!! And now I love it! This set has some dies that also go with it, and I would recommend checking it out!
