I made a card earlier this week using the same layout as today’s card, and I promised that I’d make a similar card to show you how easy it is to use different paper to create a completely new look. I definitely think that if you put these two cards side by side, you’d never even notice that they’re the same layout! They definitely look COMPETELY different!
For today’s card, I used the A Little Latte Designer Series Paper (DSP), as well as the So Sincere stamp set. The cool thing about this card is that I was able to make an adorable coffee-themed card, and I don’t even own the stamp set! I only have some of the DSP, and I was still able to pull together an adorable card. Sometimes you just need to think outside of the box, use what you have, and get creative!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. You can’t even see the card base, because I covered it completely with a piece of the coffee bean printed DSP, measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Next, I layered a little piece of the dark coffee “swirl” DSP print, measuring 3″ x 3-3/4″. Finally, I layered onto that a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, measuring 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″. This top layer is glued on using Stampin’ Dimensionals, in order to give the card some different height and texture interest.
I stamped the sentiment onto the top piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink, using a sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set. Wow–that stamp set is full of amazing sentiments!! It Sandy Hancock’s Million Dollar stamp set (she got to help design this set after achieving a million dollars in sales!), and I just love it! After stamping the words, I wrapped the piece of cardstock with the Pecan Pie Center Stripe Ribbon, tying it in a knot.
Because I don’t own this stamp set or dies, I just took out 2 of the sheets of DSP and hand-cut out the coffee mug images with my Paper Snips. No problem! I was able to layer these onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the inside of the card, I layered a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″. At the bottom, I put a little strip of the DSP to dress it up, and I think it looks perfect! The strip is only 1/2″ wide, but it adds the perfect accent.
