Gingerbread Snowflake Home Decor Frame

Christmas is coming!! Yes, it’s still October…but it’s time to be working on Christmas cards and projects, before it’s too late!

Today’s project was featured on Season 6, Episode 7 of the Great North American Stampin’ Show, and I love it! We were challenged to make a piece of home décor, and it was fun to see what I could come up with. I love making home décor, and I will definitely display this piece proudly in my own home! I started out by die cutting out 6 Pecan Pie snowflakes using the giant snowflake die from the Snowy Delights die set. I glued them all together using Liquid Glue, and it made a nice, thick snowflake for the focal point of my frame.

Next, I pulled out my Craft White refill ink, and dotted all over the snowflake so that it resembled gingerbread! Isn’t it cute?? I also added white embossing powder to the dots, and heat embossed them so that they would stay dimensional and bright.

I glued the large snowflake onto a piece of the gorgeous Silent Snowfall embossed Designer Series Paper (DSP), and it’s sooo pretty!! This is the first time I’ve used it, and I love it. So beautiful. I used a frame from the Dollar Tree for this project, and I just measured the size of the frame so that it would fit perfectly inside.

I used more snowflake dies to die cut out lots of smaller snowflakes from the Earthen Toned Metallic DSP, and added these into the scene. I also die cut out the oval from the same DSP, and heat embossed the sentiment onto it, layering it into the frame.

The bow totally adds the bling and bam to this project! I layered lots of different ribbons together to make this show piece, and then topped them with a wooden snowflake from Hobby Lobby. I finished it off using one of the Faceted Snowflakes gems, which added the perfect touch.
