I made another card using the fantastic Citrus Blooms stamp set and Designer Series Paper (DSP)…I have to keep using it before Summer is gone! It’s just so perfect for the Summertime, I am drawn to it constantly. And, the paper is so gorgeous with all of the navy and blues…I can’t resist!
And then, if you pull out another Fancy Fun Fold idea and throw it into the mix…it’s a perfect combo!! This fun fold is easy, but it does take several pieces of cardstock to make it work. PLEASE CLICK HERE to head over to watch the video where I made this card, so that you can be sure to layer up all of the pieces correctly! Then come back here for all of the measurments.
First, I started off with a Night of Navy card base, measuring 8-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, and scored at 2-3/4″. When you fold on the score line, it makes the “front” of the card a small little flap. Layered on top of this little flap is a piece of DSP measuring 2-1/2″ x 4″, and you can see the print that I chose to use. I love the Night of Navy with the Boho Blue!
When you “open” up your card, you’ll adhere a piece of Boho Blue cardstock in the center of the inside. This piece measures 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. Then, on top of this, is adhered a “mini” card that opens “backward” (please see the video!). This is a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 3-1/4″ x 9″, scored at 4-1/2″. Then finally, layered onto this mini card is another design of the DSP, and this piece measures 3″ x 4-1/4″.
When you close the card, you’ll lay down the small “front” flap first, then the “inside mini card” will close on top of this. I’m not sure if this makes sense? Please watch the video!
To dress up the front of the card, I used the Everyday Details dies, and cut out the middle-sized circle from some Boho Blue cardstock. I die cut one of the oranges directly out of the DSP, and layered this onto the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a little bit of Linen Thread to the stem, to add some texture.
Finally, I stamped the “Thinking of You” sentiment from the Everyday Greetings stamp set onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, using Night of Navy ink. I cut it out by hand, and layered this onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. And then I finished off the entire card by sprinkling on a few of the Opal Rounds Assortment gems, which I love to use with this product suite.
What do you think?? You’ve GOT to give this fun fold a try. It’s not hard, but it does have lots of little pieces. Please pull out some of your goodies and try it out! I promise, you’ll love it!!
