Today is my 30th wedding anniversary! Boy, that is a lot of years! I married my High School Sweetheart, and we started dating when we were 16 years old. We got married after we graduated college, and…bam! Now it’s 30 years later! I wanted to make him a card today to celebrate our marriage, so I pulled out the Adoring Hearts stamp set, as well as the amazing 3D Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies.
Have you ever tried any of our 3D Hybrid Embossing Folders? They are SOOOO cool! The dies are regular dies, but there is one die in the set that will set directly into the actual embossing folder, making it so that it embosses AND cuts at the same time! This particular set has little hearts that get embossed and cut, so I used those little hearts to decorate my card.
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It is a cute one, but actually really easy!
I started out with a regular Basic White card base, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, folded in half. On top of that, I layered a piece of Summer Splash cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. Finally, my top layer was another piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.
Next, I pulled out the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack, because I wanted to use some paper that had some color and design, but nothing too overly-printed. This has some great floral prints on one side, but then some watercolor-looking blotchy designs on the back side. That is what I featured here.
I put the DSP into my 3D Hybrid Embossing Folder, and out came all of these gorgeous, embossed hearts! I arranged them onto my card base, alternating the colors until I liked the way it looked. I glued all of the hearts down with Liquid Glue.
For my main focal heart, I cut that out of the same heart die using Berry Burst cardstock, and I heat embossed the sentiment onto it using the white WOW embossing powder. This sentiment is from the Adoring Hearts stamp set. It fits perfectly into these little hearts! I added some Summer Splash ribbon behind that heart, and then mounted it onto the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I sprinkled on some of the Summer Splash Tinsel Gems, which added the perfect touch.
What do you think? I’m sure he’ll like it.
