Any Holiday Theme - Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

It’s time for the October Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are here to share our creative ideas with you. We hope to inspire you this month with projects that inspire ANY HOLIDAY! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. For today’s blog post project, I’m excited to show you another design that I made using the same stamp set, called “Rejoice.” I made a Christmas ornament, and I think it is beautiful! This stamp set is a stand-alone set, meaning that it does not have any coordinating dies. So, I did a little bit of hand cutting, but it was worth it!

I stamped and heat embossed the main image using Versamark ink and Silver WOW Embossing Powder on Basic White cardstock. It’s kind-of hard to see in the photo, but it is gorgeous in person. Then I die cut it out using the 3rd largest Scalloped Blooms die. I layered it onto a piece of Secret Sea cardstock, die cut with the 2nd largest Scalloped Blooms die, and then finally, onto the largest Scalloped Shapes die that was cut out using the GORGEOUS Shimmering Stripes Designer Series Paper (DSP). I cannot stress this enough–this paper is BEAUTIFUL!!! I cannot believe it’s sadly on the Last Chance list already…grab some if you don’t have any yet!! You cannot believe how shimmery and silvery it is in person! The picture does not do it justice.

Before stamping and embossing the image, I used my Blending Brushes to brush color onto plain cardstock. I brushed Daffodil Delight in the center, then Pool Party surrounding that, and then Secret Sea on the outer edge. Then I die cut it out, and added more Secret Sea to make more definition on the edges of the scallop. I also blended some Secret Sea onto the sentiment after stamping it with the same ink. It really adds a lot of depth instead of just plain white cardstock!

The wide Cloud Cover ribbon that I used for the hangar is also on the Last Chance list…grab some!! It’s so beautiful! I sliced it into 2 pieces, to make it a little thinner, then tied a bow around it with the Secret Sea & Gold ribbon.

I stamped the manger onto Crumb Cake cardstock. First, I inked up the image with Versamark ink, then inked it directly into my Early Espresso ink pad. Did you know that you can make your regular ink emboss-able when you do this?? I poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top, and heat embossed it to make it dimensional and shiny. Then I hand-cut it out and added it to the scene using Black mini Dimensionals. It really added a lot of texture to the overall look!

Finally, I added a second die cut of the silver striped paper on the back, which gave it more stability. It was also a way for me to hide the tails of the ribbon, tucking them in between the circles.
