Artisan Sketched Garden Shimmer Pen Magic!

Oh my goodness, I’m LOVING the new Shimmer Pens by Stampin’ Up! Have you tried them yet?? We carry them in 5 colors, and I think I’m going to love love love them so much! I made a beautiful (and easy!) card today for Season 8, Episode 7 of the Great North American Stampin’ Show, and I showcased the magic of these beautiful pens. I used some of our new Designer Series Paper (DSP), called Artisan Sketched Garden DSP, to make this card. The card base is Basic White cardstock, measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″, folded in half. Layered onto that is a piece of Barely Blush cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. And finally, a piece of the polka-dotted DSP is layered onto that, and this piece measures 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.

I hand cut out one of the sketched bouquets from the DSP, and colored it in using the Shimmer Brushes. I used 3 of the colors, and WOW! You can’t see it very well in the photo, but in person, it shimmers SO MUCH! I am in love!

I put a strip of adhesive across the front of the card, and created a “rippled” ribbon effect using the beautiful, matching Barely Blush ribbon. I LOVE how this looks. I added a sentiment using the Banner Sayings stamp set and the matching Three Banner Punch, and then finally, I added some of the Hydrangea Hue In Color Dots for the finishing touch.
