We hope to inspire you for BIRTHDAYS this month! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. We all have our countries listed, so if you are looking for a demonstrator in your country, we would love to help you with your Stampin’ Up! shopping or if you would like to join our Stampin’ Up! teams!
This month’s theme is BIRTHDAY, and I’m really excited about the HUGE tutorial that you can get as an instant download in my Made to Create store! I know you’re going to love it.
I love making birthday cards, because they are usually fun, bright, and festive. I used lots of fun colors on today’s card, and I hope you love it!
I used the Attention Shoppers stamp set and matching dies fort this project, and I *LOVE* the shopping cart in this set! I used lots of different colors of Stampin’ Blends markers to color in the birthday cake images, and this made the card so bright and fun.
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s so easy and cute!
The card base is a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Next, I layered on a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. And finally, on top of that, I layered the Lemon Lolly striped piece of printed paper from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack, and that piece measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.
I die cut out the shopping card from Basic Grey cardstock, and glued it down to the card. Doesn’t it look cute??
I stamped several birthday cake images from the Attention Shoppers stamp set onto Basic White cardstock, using Black Memento ink. I colored them in with Stampin’ Blends markers, all different colors. I hand cut them out, so that I could cut off the candles on the tops of the cakes. I only left the candles on the one cake that sits on the top of the pile, and that one I cut out with the coordinating die. I stuck the cakes into the shopping cart, gluing them down with Liquid Glue. The cake on the top of the pile is stuck down using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment, using Blueberry Bushel ink, onto a scrap of the DSP, and hand cut it out and bannered the left-hand edge. This piece layered on to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I added some embellishments. The gems are from the Tinsel Gems pack, and the Three Twine Combo Pack has the different colors of twine. I tied these in a knot, and “picked apart” the twine so that it looked shredded. I adhered the knot down to the handle of the cart, using a Mini Glue Dot. Doesn’t that add a cute element?
