SCRAPS!!! Papercrafters have a TON of them, and we’re always looking for cute ways to use them! Here’s a fun card layout idea for you, that is SUPER easy and fun to make!
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. You’ll be able to see step by step how it came together!
I started out with my Basic White cardstock base, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of this is a piece of Real Red cardstock, which I put through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. Doesn’t it look great?? It’s such a versatile background, I just love it.
Then, I got to work shaping my Christmas tree with scraps of paper! I used the Designer Series Paper pack called Take a Bow, and I cut lots of 3/8″ x 6″ strips. I arranged them how I like onto my card base, leaving a small blank space between each strip, and then glued them down using Liquid Glue.
I stamped the sentiment using Real Red ink onto one of the tag dies from the Greetings of the Season die set. I decorated the tag using our White Frayed Grosgrain ribbon, tied down with the Real Red & White Baker’s Twine (I just can’t get enough of this twine!).
The finishing touch is the little gold star at the top of the tree, which I die cut out using the Decorative Trees dies and Gold Foil paper.
HOW EASY!! You could really go to town with this idea, and make a ton of easy, cute cards in a short amount of time! Have fun!
