Yesterday I made a birthday card with the brand new Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series (DSP) Paper, and today I’m doing another one! I am completely hooked on this paper pack. It is so whimsical, bright, and cheery, and goes with so many different stamp sets and colors! I just love it!
For today’s card, I used the A Bird’s Eye View stamp set. Have you seen this set? The birds in here are so cute…and when you add glasses on them, it puts them over the top! I LOVE this stamp set!!
PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s such a cute, easy card to create!
For the focal point of this card, I stamped the little bird, his glasses, and the branch onto a circle die cut from the Stylish Shapes die set (an absolute staple in my collection!). I stamped them in Black Memento ink, and colored them in with our Stampin’ Blends markers. I know I rave often about these markers, but it’s true! I am not good at coloring, but when you use these alcohol-based markers, the colors blend so beautifully that you look like an artist when you use them! They are the best.
After stamping and coloring this little guy, I added a few dove-tailed pieces of ribbon to the bottom of the circle. This is some of our gorgeous new ribbon from the Holiday Mini Catalog. It is technically Balmy Blue, but as you can see here, it pairs perfectly with Pool Party (which is what I used for the card base here). It is super fuzzy and sparkly, which will look gorgeous for snowy cards for winter. But it also looks great for this everyday card here!
I chose this brightly striped paper design for this card. I love the lime green shades (Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green), and how awesome they look when paired with Blueberry Bushel (sentiment) and Pool Party (card base).
The sentiment is from an awesome sentiment-only stamp set, called Phrases for All. It is a wonderful, all-around sentiment set, with a clean and bold font. I’m really enjoying it! I stamped it with Blueberry Bushel ink, bannered the end, and added it onto my card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In the end, the card is super basic and easy. But when you pair it with sparkly ribbon, as well as some adorable iridescent dots, it’s just fantastic! I love these new dots, and they dress up the card perfectly.
If I haven’t convinced you yet, you have to run over and grab a pack of this paper! I promise, you’re going to love it!
