We did it!! We celebrated my son’s wedding a week ago, and it was a fantastically beautiful, magical event. I am so very ecstatic for him, as well as for his new bride. We couldn’t be happier or more proud of them! What a huge blessing!
I thought it would be fun to share a the cute favors I made and gave away at the Rehearsal Dinner that my husband and I hosted the night before the wedding. Because we are from the Pacific Northwest (Washington State), I thought it was a perfect gift to make little jars of jam for everyone. We are blessed with lots and lots of berries in our neck of the woods, and I have made a million jars of jam in my lifetime! Well, maybe not a million, but you get my drift. It definitely speaks of “us,” and was the perfect gift to give to the attendees!
I typed up the little sentiment on my computer, and printed it off onto Basic White cardstock. I punched out each sentiment using my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, and then layered this onto a 2″ Circle Punch that was punched out of Soft Succulent cardstock. Yes, Soft Succulent is a color that retired last year, but since I knew it was one of the wedding colors, I stocked up on cardstock and ribbon before it all disappeared! And I’m so glad I did! It was absolutely perfect for this project.
Next, I stamped the little strawberries from the Simply Sparkling stamp set onto Basic White cardstock, using Black Memento ink. Then I colored them all in using Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends, as well as Soft Succulent Blends. Then, I hand cut them out and stuck them to the Circles using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
After the circles were completely finished, I stuck these to the lids of the jam jars using Tear & Tape adhesive. And voila! Look how adorable they turned out!
I hope this inspires you to pull out your stamps and use them to dress up a gift for someone you love!
