True Blue Florals Card – Product of the Month Blog Hop

It’s HERE!! The first Product of the Month!! Stampin’ Up! just started a brand new program, called the Product of the Month (POM). I’m so excited about it! It’s just like so many other programs out there, offered by many different companies. When you hit a certain threshold in your purchase, you have the opportunity to add something “special” to your cart for a reduced price! For the very first POM, Stampin’ Up! released a gorgeous pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP), all made out of beautiful tones of blue. *SWOON* Florals, blues, whites…it makes me believe that these dark, rainy days here in the PNW won’t last forever! LOL

This card layout is easy yet so pretty, and it’s a layout that you can create with all different kinds of papers. I started with a Basic White card base, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of that is a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, measuring 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. I carefully ripped both edges, and layered this onto the card base.

Layered on top of the Balmy Blue cardstock are two different printed pieces from the True Blue Florals DSP pack. The Night of Navy layer is 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, and the white printed piece is 2″ x 5-1/2″. Aren’t these prints beautiful?? And, they go together so fabulously!

I finished off the card by hand-cutting out some of the flowers directly from one of the sheets of DSP, and layering them all up. I also die cut out some leaves from the Petals of Beauty die set, using Vellum Specialty Paper (YAY!!! We have vellum again!!!). I *LOVE* how the vellum layers up with the blues and whites, making it automatically dressier and fancier. Don’t you think??

I stamped the sentiment on the bottom using Night of Navy ink, and sprinkled on a few of the Pearls of Beauty gems. Once this card was completely finished, I truly realized how much I *love* it!!
