Earlier this year, I was asked to present at one of our online, demonstrator-exclusive events. My assignment was to play with the new Winterly Tree Tops bundle, using the stamps, dies, and Designer Series Paper (DSP). And boy, did I have some FUN!!! I will share with you some of the projects I made over the next few days. They were super fun to make, and it’s actually really fun to “make” yourself stick to only one stamp set and bundle. It really makes you think outside the box, and force your creativity to come to life!
Here is one of the cards I made, flipping a Christmas-themed stamp set into a Fall-themed project! All I did was change up the color scheme, and WOW! It totally turned into Fall.
The card base is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered on top of that is a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. I love how it comes almost to the very edge of the card base, just giving a peek of the Crumb Cake around the edges.
The Mellow Moss piece was embossed with one of our beautiful embossing folders, which gives it so much texture! I LOVE using embossing folders on cards!
The focal point of the card is made with Cajun Craze cardstock. I stamped the “bough” stamp several times with Black Memento ink, and then die cut it out. Then I cut apart the boughs, making each bough into 2 pieces, and arranged them to form a wreath. The wreath is attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The embellishments on the card couldn’t be easier! I cut out one of the birds from the DSP, and also die cut out a few branch pieces from Early Espresso and Crumb Cake cardstock. Layered underneath these is also some of the twine that matches this product suite, giving a nod to the Cajun Craze in the card and tying it all together.
The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using Versamark ink, and heat embossed with our WOW white embossing powder. I bannered the edge using my Paper Snips, and added it to the card along with some of the sparkly gems that also go with this suite!
The final touch was the “berries” on the wreath. Can you see how beautiful they are? I used our Metallics Enamel Effects Basics to make little dots on the wreath with the Copper and Gold liquids. Be sure to do this step last! It takes a while for these dots to dry. I find that if I leave it for about 20 minutes, it’s best. The thicker the liquid, the longer it takes to dry.
Well, what do you think? I thought it was fun to make a Fall card with a Christmas stamp set. I think these birds can be used all through the Winter season, as well!
