Simple stamping…what’s not to love about it?? I LOVE making beautiful projects that are SIMPLE, yet classy. Simple, yet fun. Simple, yet beautiful. These types of cards call my name!! If a card takes too long to make, I’m out. I’m all about the gorgeous card that takes 10 minutes (preferably 5!) or less to put together.
For today’s card, I featured the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP), just like I did on yesterday’s project. It is GORGEOUS!! There is so much you can do with it, and I love that I can use the watercolored side to make simple cards that pack a punch. All I did today was use the Black Memento ink pad, and BAM! The card is done!

I used the Sketched Butterflies stamp set to make this card, and not only does it have some beautiful butterfly images, but it also has some great sentiments. You definitely need to check it out.
The card base is made out of Soft Seafoam cardstock, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Next, I layered a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock on top of that, which measures 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. And finally, I chose one of the beautiful prints in the Thoughtful Journey pack of DSP, and cut it down to 4″ x 5-1/4″, and layered it on top.
I chose to use several different butterflies on this card, and I stamped them with Black Memento ink. And finally, I stamped the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock, and punched it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. I layered this onto a Cajun Craze 2″ Circle Punch, and then layered this onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I sprinkled on a few of the beautiful Iridescent Foil Gems, which gave it a lovely sparkle. I chose these gems because they have a touch of gold in them, which looked perfect with the Cajun Craze cardstock.
I didn’t show this in the video, but I also dressed up the inside a little bit. I adhered a piece of Basic White cardstock inside, measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″, and I stamped a couple of the butterflies on it. I love how it ties the inside and the outside of the card together!
