I have lots of Thank You cards I need to send out, so I pulled out my Simply Zinnias stamp set and coordinating paper pack. The paper in this pack is fantastic, and one of the wonderful things about it is the color scheme! It’s perfect for Summer…bright, cheerful, and fun!
Another thing I love about this product suite by Stampin’ Up! is the matching 3D Embossing Folder that goes along with it. I hope you can see the gorgeous detail in these photos…the Zinnias are so intricate and beautiful, that this folder just puts the entire card right over the top!
The card base is a regular card made out of Basic White cardstock, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. On top of this, I layered the beautiful Melon Mambo piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), and this piece measures 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Melon Mambo is one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors, especially in the Summertime!
Layered on top of this is a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″, which I put through the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder. Like I said before, the detail in this folder is just spectacular!
I heat embossed the greeting on this card, using the new WOW Embossing Powder in white. When you do heat embossing, you have to use a pigment ink pad for the powder to stick to, so I pulled out my Versamark stamp pad. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. You can see exactly how I ink up the stamp, and then apply the powder and heat it up. It’s like magic!
If you watch the video, you can also see how I created the Melon Mambo ribbon that I wrapped around the cardstock. I used our white Diagonal ribbon, and colored it with the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends marker. How cool is that! You really need to color both sides for the full effect, and then let it dry a minute before adding it to your project.
Finally, I punched out several flowers from coordinating cardstock colors, using the Petal Park punch. I punched them out of Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green, and Boho Blue cardstock. These colors look fantastic with the Melon Mambo!
I added the Adhesive-Backed Pearl Trio for my finishing touch, and I really love how this card turned out! I need to make about 5 more, so I’d better get to work!
