This card was created for the last episode of Season 5 of the Great North American Stampin’ Show. What a BLAST we had this season! We created all kinds of different designs every week, all based on card layouts that can be seen throughout Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. Everyone did such a great job! I’d love for you to watch what we made. Head on over to my YouTube channel to catch last week’s episode!
This week, we were supposed to make a creation using the scrapbook page layout, featuring a BANNER, that is shown on page 28 of the Annual Catalog. I chose to pull out my amazing Party Banners dies, which I LOVE, and make a “mini” card that layers onto a full card base.

I do not own the Turtle-y Cute stamp set, but I did buy the paper! And, guys…this paper is SO CUTE!!! It’s sooo worth it to buy cute paper, even if you don’t own the stamp set. You can still do so much with the paper by itself!

The card base is made from Garden Green cardstock, measuring 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Layered onto that is a piece of the Designer Series Paper, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. And finally, on top of that, is layered a folded banner “mini” card that I cut out of Garden Green cardstock. I used the 7th from the smallest pennant banner die to cut the folded card, and then I layered onto it the 6th from the smallest banner that I cut out with Basic White cardstock.

I hand-cut out some of the turtles, so that they could be celebrating a birthday! I adhered them onto the pennant banner, after using a Blending Brush to brush on some Balmy Blue ink. It gives a nice background, instead of gluing them directly onto a plain, white cardstock base. I scribbled a little bit of Smoky Slate beneath them, to give some shadowing, and then added some ribbon and gems.

What do you think?? Isn’t this card fun?! I love how it turned out! Join us starting September 4 for Season 9 of The Great North American Stampin’ Show!
