Love & Courage Pocket Card

Have you seen the adorable candy pouches that I’ve shown this past week? It’s so quick and easy, I love it! Today, I made the exact same candy pouch, but instead of putting candy in it, I added a pull tab notecard. It is SO cute!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the stamp set I’m using today is one that is perfect for sending to someone fighting cancer. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I used for today’s card is actually from one of our Scrapbooking Kits, called Celebrate Together. It has some bright and cheerful colors in it, including the pink color I was looking for to make a breast cancer awareness card. The pouch itself is a piece of DSP measuring 12″ x 6″, and it is scored on the long side at 4″ and 8″.

On both of the short sides of the DSP, measure halfway (3″) and put a pencil mark, and then slice off each end from the 3″ mark back toward the score lines. This will create the angled edges. Glue the pouch closed, adding adhesive as the photo shows. I like to use Tear & Tape for 3D projects like this, because it is strong!

The largest Stylish Shapes circle was die cut out of Basic White cardstock for the focal point on this project, and I stamped the words in Strawberry Slush, and the flower in Daffodil Delight and Pecan Pie. Using one of my rolls of ribbon, I traced around it onto Strawberry Slush cardstock, and hand cut it out. It was the perfect size to layer beneath my Stylish Shapes circle. I also die cut out the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies from Daffodil Delight cardstock, and cut it in half so that it would be long enough to peek out from the edges of the circle.

I added the Cloud Cover glimmer paper for some glam, punching the circles out using my Bee Builder punch. I also punched out a circle to add to the notecard, so it would have a pull tab to pull it out.

The notecard inside of the pouch measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″, and I stamped the images using Strawberry Slush ink. I love how this project turned out, and I’m ready to put it in the mail to a family member who recently had breast cancer removed.
