Even if Mexican Food isn’t your favorite, I just KNOW you’re going to absolutely fall in love with this absolutely adorable stamp set! It just makes the cutest cards. The more I play with it, the more potential I see, and I keep creating more and more cards!
For this card, I used my Black Memento ink pad and colored everything in with Stampin’ Blends markers. Our alcohol markers are amazing!! They turn you into a “real” artist in seconds! Honestly, I am not very good with coloring and shading. But using these markers turns me into a pro in an instant! And, of course, I have them all so that I can reach for anything I need no matter what I’m coloring. I would suggest that you start out with a few of your favorite colors, and then add another set or two onto each order you place so that you eventually build up a beautiful rainbow of colors to use each time you color.
This is a regular-sized card base made with our Basic White cardstock, and I layered it with the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper. Then I added a small square that I die cut out with the Stylish Shapes Dies (my favorite must-have die set for sure!!). On this square, I stamped the little tacos using Black Memento ink and the masking technique. Have you ever tried the masking technique? It’s really quite easy, and gives such a cool look! It made it look like the tacos are layered on each other, one in front of the other.
After stamping, you can color in the taco images however you’d like. As a finishing touch, I stamped the adorable little mustache face onto the front taco, and it makes me giggle every time I look at it!!
The other thing I added was the 2022-24 In Color Baker’s Twine Pack, using the Parakeet Party color. I made loops on the side of the square, so that it would kind-of look like the lettuce leaves that are sticking out of the taco! Is that adorable, or what?!? Honestly, it would be much easier for you to watch the quick video I made, and it shows you exactly how I did this looping technique with the twine. Check it out so that you’ll be able to make the card, too!
One of the neat things I added for the finishing touch was the red Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics, and I dotted little red dots around the tacos. This product is so cool! It takes about 5-10 minutes to dry, so you need to set it aside before you can touch it. But it stays dimensional and puffy, which looks really cool in person!
The sentiment is also stamped on one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes die set, and it’s perfect for this long, skinny sentiment. Layer it all up, and you have a card that will make you smile! Wouldn’t you smile if you received this card in the mail from a sweet friend? Go ahead, and make one to send! You won’t be sorry!
