Fall is coming! I cringe as I say it, because I am a sunshine girl at heart and I dread the cooler weather and dreary days. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and we do have beautiful weather in the Fall. But still! I’m not ready to say goodbye to Summer.
Either way, I’d better get ready, right? So, I’m finally making a Fall card, and I do love the way it turned out! The new Pick of the Patch stamp set has a DARLING pumpkin punch that coordinates with it, and I had to grab it. I love decorating with pumpkins during the Fall season, and this punch was an obvious purchase for me!
The pumpkins were punched out of Basic White cardstock, as well as the new Joy of Christmas Designer Series (DSP) paper. This is obviously holiday-printed paper, but on the back side of several of the designs are prints that can be used for other things. That’s where I found the woodgrain print here, which I used to punch out a few more pumpkins. The stems were punched out of Early Espresso, and adhered to the pumpkins with Stampin’ Seal.

After I got all of the pumpkins put together, I layered them onto a “tree ring” cutout that is cut from one of our awesome hybrid 3D embossing folders, called Tree Rings. It embosses the rings at the same time as it cuts them out! I love it! And it was a perfect piece to use as my focal point for the pumpkins to be layered on. Don’t you think it looks great together?
I layered the entire pumpkin medallion piece onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed, using the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. I love this folder! Especially for a natural look. To make it even more distressed, I used my Blending Brush, with Crumb Cake ink, to rub all over it. I love how it looks after it’s brushed with some ink!
I used the Natural Wavy Trim twine ribbon, along with the Silver Threaded Twine, to make my bow. Again, I love adding this natural look for the outdoorsy feel. With the distressed background, the twine, and the tree ring medallion, I just love it!
After layering everything onto my Basic White card base and stamping the sentiment with Pecan Pie, I finished the card by adding a few Pecan Pie gems from the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems pack. It gave just a tiny bit of sparkle to the card, without going overboard.
Here are the cardstock dimensions for this card:
Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, folded in half
Crumb Cake Layer: 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
Embossed Layer: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
What do you think? Did it give you Fall vibes? Are you ready to welcome Fall?
