The Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper has a sheet in the paper pack that has all sorts of different designs on it, just perfect for cutting out and using on card bases just as they are. I used that piece of paper to cut out this striped Crushed Curry piece, and I love how this card turned out!
The Crushed Curry and white striped design on this card just called out to me to use the Sweet Citrus stamp set, dies, and 3D Hybrid Embossing Folder. This entire combination of products is just fantastic! Have you used it yet? I admit, I haven’t used it as much as I should. After making this card, I am hooked! I will definitely be using it more!
I cut out the striped piece of Designer Series Paper, and then layered it onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock. The yellow and black combination is perfect for lemons, but I could also see it used for bees! Or maybe even a baby card?
Of course, if you’re using black and white, then you HAVE to pull out our adorable Black and White Gingham ribbon for an accent. It pulled together the entire look on this card, and I built it up from there!
Here’s the link to watch the video where I made this card. You can see exactly how I stamped the lemons, and then die cut them out using the dies and 3D Embossing Folder. These hybrid embossing folders are just amazing!! I love that you can use them just for embossing a background, but also for die cutting out images to use on a card (like I did for this card here). After stamping the lemons with Crushed Curry ink onto Basic White cardstock, I inserted the stamped images into the embossing folder, and BAM! When I opened up the folder, not only were the images now embossed, but they were also cut out! It is just SO COOL!!
When I stamped the leaves with the Garden Green ink pad, I made some of them with full-strength ink, and some of them stamped-off. This gave the leaves some variation of color, which I really liked.
After stamping the sentiment onto the bottom of the card using Black Memento ink, I just went to town layering up the lemons and adding the leaves! The embossed lemons really are the star of the show here, and not much else needed to be added for the card to look amazing. What do you think? I think I’m going to start working on some other citrus fruits to try out with this stamp set, and see what I can come up with! I just love the way this card turned out, and it looks so sunny and summertime, now I’m ready for a glass of lemonade!
