Balloon Festoon Paper Strip Card

It’s time to send a fun, quick Happy Birthday card to your favorite person! QUICK! What do you do???

Well, of course, you pull out your gorgeous pack of Brights Designer Series Paper (DSP)! Right??

This card is so easy and fun, and it uses all the different colors and prints in the DSP. I had lots of fun putting this together, and I hope you make some yourself! No matter which pack of paper you use, you’ll enjoy putting together cards made with this “paper strip” layout!

The card base is made out of Azure Afternoon cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Then, I took a piece of white cardstock and added the paper strips to it, one at a time, until it was completely covered. I trimmed off the edges, and then mounted it onto the card base. The cardstock measures 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, and each strip of DSP is 1″ x 5-3/8″. As you can see, I had the first strip and the last strip hanging off the edges, so these aren’t quite as wide as the full 1″.

I added a Daffodil Delight sentiment die, die cut from the Stylish Shapes dies (my FAVORITE!!), and I stamped the sentiment with the matching ink pad, trimming off the right-hand edge.

I die cut out two balloons from the Balloon Festoon dies, using Azure Afternoon and Coastal Cabana cardstocks, stamping on them using the matching ink pad colors. I added them to the card front, and added some white twine bows onto the bottoms of the balloons.

After adding a few gems, the card was finished! Quick and easy! I hope you give this layout a try–it’s a great one!
