Season 8, Episode 2 of the Great North American Stampin’ Show aired today, and I have the cutest card for it! We used the card layout inspiration from page 42 of the current January-May Mini Catalog for this week’s competition, and I chose to imitate the card on the top left. The card base is a piece of Basic Black cardstock, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Layered onto that is a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 3-3/4″ x 5″, and I stamped all over it with the little paw print stamp from the Cutest Crew stamp set, using Black Memento ink. This stamp set is SO cute!! The matching dies are equally adorable.
I added a strip of Real Red cardstock around the middle of the card, to imitate the sample I’m using for inspiration, and this piece measures 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″. I wrapped Black Twine around it several times, and tied a knot off to the left-hand side, and then layered it onto the card front.
I die cut out several circles from the Stylish Shapes die set, using Real Red, Smoky Slate, and Basic White cardstocks. I stamped the sentiment, as well as some of the kittens, onto the circles, and also added some die cut kitties. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add depth to the circle layout, which was perfect.
The inside of the card gets the “WOW” factor! I added a sentiment with Real Red ink, more paw prints along the bottom, and then a pop-up mechanism using Basic White cardstock. This strip of cardstock measures 4″ x 1″, scored at 1″, 2″, and 3″. Please watch the video to see exactly how to adhere it to the card. I stamped more paw prints into it before I adhered it into the card, and it looks perfect!
I stamped and colored 2 kittens with my Stampin’ Blends markers, and cut them out and added them to the pop-up. Isn’t it perfect??
