Kids' Theme Cards - Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

It’s time for the April Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are here to share our creative ideas with you. We hope to inspire you this month with KIDS-THEMED CARDS! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. We all have our countries listed, so if you are looking for a demonstrator in your country, we would love to help you with your Stampin’ Up! shopping or if you would like to join our Stampin’ Up! teams!

Here is the project I created for the exclusive tutorial. Isn’t it darling?? I used the darling Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper to make it, I know you’ll love recreating it! All of the directions & measurements to make this card are included in this month’s tutorial.

For today’s blog post, I made a super fun birthday card using the Simple Alphabet stamp set. I was trying to make a fun birthday card for a child, and I think I nailed it!

I started out with Azure Afternoon cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. I added a piece of the fun Splash of Sparkles Designer Series Paper (DSP), measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-1/8″. And finally, I layered on a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″.

PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. First, I stamped “happy birthday” onto the card, using Azure Afternoon ink. Then, I used Summer Splash ink and inked up various letters of the alphabet, stamped them first onto a scratch piece of paper to remove some of the ink, then stamped onto my card front. I filled the entire image with letters.

I die cut out a couple of circles from the Stylish Shapes dies, and stamped my sentiment from the Banner Sayings stamp set onto the 2nd smallest circle die. I layered that onto a Summer Splash circle, and added it to the card front on top of the darling Balmy Blue gingham ribbon.

The final touch was a few of the Pearls of Beauty dots, which added the perfect flair!

I stamped inside of the card with a sentiment from the Cutest Crew stamp set, and used the little alphabet accents and dots that are supposed to be used for foreign languages to add “confetti” to the inside of the card. Doesn’t it look perfect??
