Blessed Beginnings Wedding Card - Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

It’s time for the March Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are here to share our creative ideas with you. We hope to inspire you this month with cards commemorating LIFE EVENTS! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. Here is the project I created for the exclusive tutorial. Isn’t it beautiful?? I love the rich, deep colors of the Nature’s Walk Designer Series Paper (DSP), and it goes so beautifully with all of the gold accents. I explained in detail how to create this card in the March Creativity Abounds tutorial.

For today’s blog post, I made this beautiful card using the Blessed Beginnings stamp set, and I had to buy this set the second I saw it! This little, country church was an immediate “YES!” for me, and it was so much fun to create this card today.

I started out with a Basic White card base, measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″ and folded in half. I added some “grass” the bottom of the card, using a 1-1/2″ strip of the beautiful Nature’s Walk DSP, and I tore the top edge so that it would look even more natural.

I stamped the church onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock, and colored it in with my Stampin’ Blends markers (colors are listed below). PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card! I die cut it out, and added it to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I also die cut out several little shrubbery pieces, die cutting directly out of the DSP. I arranged these onto the card, nestling them right around the church steps. I also stamped the top of the tree onto some of the DSP, die cut it out, and added it to the card front.

I used Daffodil Delight ink and my Blending Brush to create a sun, and then added some Pool Party to the background to create some color. I stamped the sentiment onto the card using Black Memento ink, and I also put part of the sentiment onto a die from the Stylish Shapes dies. Adding the word “wedding” to the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals gave the card some height and texture.

The final touch was wrapping some Linen Thread around the top of the card several times before tying a bow, and I love this because it pulled in the browns from the church. Isn’t it darling??
