Today was my bi-monthly free card class that I offer for the Senior Citizens in my community. I prepare 3 cards each for 16 participants, and whoever shows up gets to make cards! We don’t require RSVP’s, so I just let them know that 16 is my maximum and we’ve never had a problem. We have a BLAST, and the ladies love it!
For these card classes, I use all retired product. Anything that I can pull out of my stash, I try to put together into quick and easy cards that any of them can make, no matter their limitations. I want everyone to walk away with a smile on their face, no frustration allowed! hahaha
I always feature cardstock, Designer Series Paper (DSP), ribbon, and gems that are ALL retired. I have enough to last a lifetime, so it is a blessing for me to be able to share with others! I’ve been offering this class 6 times per year for 3 years now, and I have faithful ladies who have been coming since the very beginning. It is a great time for all!

I provide everything for FREE, including the envelopes. The only thing that I require the group to provide is the room and the adhesive. Other than that, it’s all of my own product.
You can see that sometimes I use die cuts, sometimes they do some simple stamping, and sometimes I feature all DSP. I also throw in some old kits, whether they be Paper Pumpkin kits or other kits that we have carried that I happen to have on hand.
I prepare all parts for each card into individual piles, and then all supplies for each card goes into its own envelope. So, on the day of the event, we hand out 3 envelopes to each person, and each envelope has the supplies for each card inside of it. There are 3 bins that rotate around the tables, and the bins contain all of the stamps, gems, and ink pads that might be needed for each project. Each table stamps/creates the same card at the same time, and then I swap the bins as each table completes the project.
Check out this month’s offering! I hope this gives you some inspiration for you to offer some card classes in your area. Everyone loves it!
