It’s time for the March Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world who are here to share our creative ideas with you. We hope to inspire you this month with ANYTHING BUT A CARD! You may be starting here, or you may have come from someone else’s blog. Either way, there is a list at the end of this post to help you “hop” to all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. We all have our countries listed, so if you are looking for a demonstrator in your country, we would love to help you with your Stampin’ Up! shopping or if you would like to join our Stampin’ Up! teams!
This month’s theme is “Anything But a Card,” and I’m really excited about the HUGE tutorial that you can get as an instant download in my Made to Create store! I know you’re going to love it.
I love making fun projects that have nothing to do with cardmaking. I really love making home décor, as well as little gifts (especially candy or treat holders). For this month’s tutorial project, I made some adorable Easter or Spring ornaments, which you could use on an Easter Tree or just hanging around your house!
For today’s blog post, I made an additional home décor item for Spring, and I love how it turned out. This cute little carrot wreath is the perfect Spring home décor piece, ready to hang anywhere around your house!

I started out with an 8″ wooden embroidery hoop from the craft store. You can find these anywhere! Here is the link to my Amazon affiliate shop, where you can grab some right away. Next, I pulled out some thin cardboard, such as a piece of backing from a package of printed paper. I hand-drew the shape of a carrot onto it, and cut it out. Then, I used this template to trace and cut out a total of 8 carrots.

After cutting out the cardboard pieces, I laid each piece of cardboard onto some Pumpkin Pie cardstock from Stampin’ Up!. I didn’t let this whole process stress me out…I just went for it! You can see exactly how I did this in the video. I cut out all of the pieces of Pumpkin Pie, and then glued them onto the cardboard pieces.

Next, I pulled out my Bough punch, and punched out 3 stems of greenery per carrot, using Garden Green cardstock. Any color of green would work well here! I hot glued this greenery to the back of each carrot.
I love my narrowly-pointed hot glue gun. You can grab the same one I use by clicking here, on my Amazon affiliate shop. I used my hot glue gun to start gluing the carrots around the outer edge of the embroidery hoop, 4 per side (see video). I left a gap at the bottom, where I was able to glue my little “spring” sign.

I made a bow for the top, using my Basic Beige ribbon to tie a double bow. I also added a piece of tan twine on top, with another double bow, which I hot glued on top of the Basic Beige bow. It helped to add a natural texture, which I really love.

Finally, I made a tag for the bottom of the wreath. I die cut out 2 tags from the Something Fancy dies, in both Basic Beige and Crumb cake. I stamped the sentiment from the Storybook Friends stamp set, using Garden Green ink, and then added some of the adorable elements from the Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper (DSP). I just cut these straight out of the DSP, instead of stamping and coloring the images myself.
What do you think? I think the entire project turned out SO CUTE! It’s so much fun to use my Stampin’ Up! products to decorate my home. I hope this gives you some inspiration to make some cute Spring décor yourself! You can find all of the different products I used from my Amazon affiliate shop by clicking here. Have fun with it!
