I’ve shown you several cards lately that I have created, using inspiration directly from Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog. When I feel stuck, or just don’t know what to make, I love that I can pull out the catalog, which is full of gorgeous, full-color pictures. I can use these ideas to copy straightaway, or I can use them for inspiration to get my creative juices flowing.
Today’s card was inspired from the card pictured on page 25 of the Annual Catalog. PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch the video where I made this card. It’s so simple and cute!
We all need birthday cards, and this is a PERFECT way to use up your scraps! I love that you could really use any color combination to make this layout, and it could have either a masculine or a feminine feel. You could mix and match the colors according to the season, or even choose someone’s school colors or their personal favorite colors! The ideas are endless!
My card base is Basic White cardstock, measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and folded in half. Then, I cut lots of 1/4″ strips of cardstock, all different colors, and arranged them onto my card base. I glued these down using Liquid Glue. I trimmed off the bottom edges of the strips, so that they all looked nice and neat.
I used the Simply Said stamp set, which is full of awesome sentiments! I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment onto a piece of Boho Blue cardstock, using Night of Navy ink.
Finally, I added little candle wicks to the top of each candle, and voila! The card was finished! How easy is that?! I hope you’ll give it a try!
