I need soooo many Thank You cards right now! Actually, I think Thank You cards are my favorite cards to mail. Sending cards is not as common as it used to be, and I know that when I mail a card to thank someone for their kindness to me, they are always surprised and delighted! And, I commonly get a “thank you” for my “thank you”!! Ha ha!
Today’s card layout couldn’t be simpler. However, the heat embossing is what puts it over the top! Have you ever experimented with heat embossing? It is MAGIC! It’s honestly the magic that hooked me into starting to stamp over 26 years ago! When you pour the embossing powder onto your project, then start heating it up with your heat tool…it starts to melt and change color, and it looks like magic. I just love it!

The card base is made of Misty Moonlight cardstock, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and folded in half. Next, I layered on a piece of Basic White cardstock, measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″. The gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) that is layered onto that measures 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″, and it is from the absolutely GORGEOUS paper pack called “Thoughtful Journey.” Have you seen it?? It’s hand-painted by Stampin’ Up!’s talented artists, who watercolored gorgeous nature scenes and had them made into DSP for us. It is seriously absolutely STUNNING paper. You have to grab yourself a pack and go to town! In fact, that is the paper I’m featuring for August’s card class…we’ll use it for several different designs! Go to the “Events” tab and register…I’d love to have you!
Anyway, I chose the print of paper I wanted, and then heat embossed the gigantic “THANK YOU” stamp from the Thanking You stamp set using white embossing powder. Isn’t it cool?? It’s so huge, and makes such a big statement, that the card doesn’t need anything else! Well, except for a little bit of bling, of course! I sprinkled on some of our beautiful Iridescent Faceted Gems to finish off the card front, and then added a little strip of the DSP on the inside of the card to tie it in.
What do you think? I love it!
