Our new holiday Mini Catalog is here, and I adore this bright, fun, and bold new Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP)! The exciting thing about this paper, though, is that the reverse side of it is full of whimsical, fun, and brightly-colored paper that can be used year-round. Isn’t that fabulous?? So, I chose to feature it here for a birthday card!

I used the Phrases for All stamp set for this card, which is full of fantastic sentiments with a bold font. It has all the bases covered: birthday, congrats, thank you, and more. I stamped the sentiment with Lemon Lime Twist ink, which really made it stand out in a fun, bright way.
I layered the sentiment onto a small piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, since this is one of the colors featured in the DSP. It goes great with the Lime, don’t you think? Both are such fun colors.
For the card base, I pulled out all of the new pack of paper and played with all of the different prints. There are so many to choose from! Polka dots, stripes, stars, and small dots. I love them all. And there are so many different colors featured in the paper, as well, so it was really fun to choose what color accents I wanted to add to the card. Do you like the Lemon Lime Twist as the card base, or would you have chosen something else? I layered the strips of DSP onto Real Red cardstock, which I also thought was perfect. Do you agree?
The strips of DSP are each 1-3/16″ x 3-1/2″. You could make these any size you want, but that’s what I came up with and I think it looks perfect. I played around with the layout of the stripes, and I love how this all comes together.
The rest of the card dimensions are as follows:
Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, folded in half
Basic White cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 5-3/8″
Real Red cardstock: 3-5/8″ x 5-1/4″
Flirty Flamingo (sentiment layer): 1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
Basic White (sentiment): 1-5/8″ x 3-5/8″
For the finishing touch on this card, I pulled out the brand new White Iridescent Ribbon, which I am simply in love with! It is going to go with EVERYTHING, which is just the best! But I also decided to use my Real Red Dark Blends marker, and I colored the ribbon with the Blend to make it red, instead of white. The cool thing is that the ribbon still stays sparkly and iridescent, even when it is colored, so now it is the coolest red sparkly ribbon ever!!
The final embellishment is the gorgeous new Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins, which are so sparkly in person, you just cannot believe it. And, they are completely flat, so that means that they add a HUGE pop of sparkle, without adding any bulk to your card! Win, win!
I hope you love this card as much as I do. Think outside of the box when you’re playing with all of the new products in the holiday Mini Catalog…you’re going to fall in love even more than you thought you would!
