My card class for May centered around the Sweet Songbirds stamp set, and it was such a fun class! Everyone loved how much you could do with it, especially since there is a coordinating punch available for the bird. For this card, it also paired perfectly with the Bough punch, which I was able to use for tree branches and leaves. I definitely recommend both punches!
This card was made using the new Blueberry Bushel stamp pad and matching Designer Series Paper (DSP). And, it looks gorgeous paired with the new Berry Burst color, as well. I pulled out the 6” x 6” Brights Designer Series Paper pack for this card, and I love all of the bright colors, and how they all go together so nicely.
I stamped the nest with Crumb Cake ink onto the matching cardstock, and cut it out by hand. Then I punched out the little bird from Berry Burst cardstock, and added her little wings from the DSP. I love how the wings used a tiny gingham print, but the background of the card front used a large plaid version of the same print!
Click here to watch the video where I made this card. You can see exactly where I got all of the little parts and pieces of the bird punched out from, and how I put it all together.
If you watch the video, you can also see exactly how I used only two bough punches to make all of the leaves for this card. I used Granny Apple Green cardstock, and it was just perfect!
This was another card where I remembered to decorate the inside! I need to remember this more often, because I absolutely love how just a little, tiny addition really makes the inside of the card so special.
Hop over to see another one of the projects I made using this same stamp set and coordinating Designer Series Paper. You can really see exactly how perfect this paper pack is for this stamp set and punch!
